1967 – graduated from the Leningrad State University.
1984 – received a Ph.D. degree; thesis titled «Electron-hole centers in minerals and their geochemical significance on the example of barite and beryl.»
1970-2012 – research fellow in the Institute of the Earth’s Crust and lecturer at the Faculty of Geology and the Faculty of Physics of the St. Petersburg State University.
Worked in the University of Marburg, University of Oldenburg, Freiberg Mining Academy, Free University of Berlin. Associate professor in Faculty of Physics of the St. Petersburg State University.
