“Electron Paramagnetic Resonance Investigations of ZnSe:Mn Nanocrystals”

Colloidal nanocrystals of ZnSe doped with Mn2+ were synthesized in non-polar medium using hot-injection technique. Obtained samples were characterized by means of photoluminescence and absorption spectroscopies. To confirm the incorporation of Mn2+ impurity and to reveal its state and localization, electron paramagnetic resonance (EPR) spectroscopy was employed. As a result, EPR spectra were analyzed and hyperfine splitting constant and g-factor for Mn2+ dopant were determined.

Excursion-lecture for “LETI” students

Excursion-lecturer was conducted in the Center for Magnetic Resonance for Saint-Petersburg Electrotechnical University (“LETI”) students. Equipment for modern NMR techniques were demonstrated by Mikhail Vovk, demonstration of operation on the EPR spectrometer Bruker Elexsys E580 was conducted by Stanislav Sukharzhevskii.

Canceled earlier lecture of S.M. Suharzhevskii will take place on Thursday, 04.24.2014 at 12:00 in room 1093 at the Chemistry Faculty. The title of the presentation is “Applications of EPR spectroscopy for CMR users’ projects in 2013”. Everyone is invited to the talk and coffeebreak with cookies afterwards.
