1965 – graduated from the Leningrad State University.
1966-1968 – post-graduate student in the physics department in the Leningrad State University.
1968-1970 – jr. researcher in the Laboratory of Plant Chemistry of the Botanical Institute of the USSR.
1971 – engineer in the laboratory of NMR in the Research Institute of Chemistry of the St. Petersburg State University, 1974 – after defending his doctoral thesis became senior researcher.
1987-1997 – Head of the NMR spectroscopy group in the All-Russian Research Institute of Technology of Antibiotics and Enzymes.
1997-2011 – Head of the Laboratory of NMR Spectroscopy, Department of Physical Organic Chemistry of the St. Petersburg State University.
