St. Petersburg Branch of the Russian Chemical Society invites to a lecture of Prof. Dr. Hans-Heinrich Limbach from Dahlem Research School of Molecular Sciences of the Freie Universität Berlin, Germany
“Functional hydrogen bond NMR: from model systems to nano catalysts and enzymes”
The lecture will take place in Mendeleev’s center of the St. Petersburg State University (Universitetskaya nab. 7/9) on the 17 of June 2014 at 15:00. Additional info: 323-41-20.
Someday next week (May 27-28) at the Chemistry Department in the room 1093 (conference room of RDMI) Dr. Konstantin Ivanov from “International Tomography Center SB Russian Academy of Science”, Novosibirsk, will give a lecture “Spin hyperpolarization methods in NMR”. Everybody is welcomed. The exact time will be announced later.
Canceled earlier lecture of S.M. Suharzhevskii will take place on Thursday, 04.24.2014 at 12:00 in room 1093 at the Chemistry Faculty. The title of the presentation is “Applications of EPR spectroscopy for CMR users’ projects in 2013”. Everyone is invited to the talk and coffeebreak with cookies afterwards.
At 15:30 in the auditorium 2076 of Chemistry Faculty will be a lecture by Professor Miklos Gratzl “Optochemical and electrochemical methods for biomedical measurements” (in addition to previously announced talk of Prof. Gratzl on 20 of March at CMR).
At 17:00 in the auditorium 404 of Institute of Physics (building M) will be a seminar on physical models of birds navigation magnetoreception. Program:
- Lecture “Introduction to MRI” by K.V. Tyutyukin. In this talk basics of the method and its in vivo applications will be given.
- A. V. Komolkin will review some publications on MRI in birds investigation.
Within the multidisciplinary seminars conducted by our Center, on March 13th and 20th there will be a lecture by Professor Miklos Gratzl of the Case Western Reserve University, USA, united by a common theme «Experimental approaches to study cellular and multicellular drug transport in cancer cells».
In this sequence of talks mechanisms of drug transport at single cells and in 3D multicellular constructs will be briefly reviewed. Experimental approaches to study some of these processes will then be presented in more detail. At the cellular level, drug delivery into single cells via passive and forced uptake and associated processes will be discussed. At the multicellular level, drug penetration, modulation of therapeutic efficacy by local hypoxia and acidification, and distribution of cell kill will be outlined based on the spheroid model, the microfluidic approach, and a new physical model of the capillary microenvironment. Movement of a classical small drug molecule and a plant‐ derived viral nano‐delivery vehicle will be discussed in these contexts.
Seminars will take place at 12:00 in room 1093 of the Chemical Faculty. There will be some tea, coffee and cookies. The lectures will be in English.
On Thursday, 17.10.2013 at 15:15 at the Chemistry Department at the conference hall of the Center (Room 1093) Dr. Vadim Katchala (Bruker) will give a lecture
“Monitoring of the reaction by NMR spectroscopy.”
– Setting up an experiment
– Features of a Dynamic Center
– The possible methods
Everybody is invited and will be welcomed with a tea, coffee and biscuits.
